The Buffalo Bills and cornerback Kaiir Elam provided updates on safety Damar Hamlin Thursday morning.
Elam tweeted that the sophomore pro is “awake and showing more signs of improvement.”

“Our boy is better, awake and showing more signs of improvement,” Elam posted on Twitter. “Thank you God. Keep coming prayers please. All love 3!”
Hamlin has been in critical condition since Monday night, when he went into cardiac arrest after hitting Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

Hamlin fell to the grass after the tackle and was administered CPR before an ambulance took him to hospital.
The Bills also provided an update Thursday, saying Hamlin has shown “remarkable improvement” and appears to be “neurologically intact.”
Hamlin’s terrifying collapse on the turf stunned the NFL world as the league awaited word on his condition.
Thursday’s update is the most positive since Hamlin was taken to the hospital Monday night.

Hamlin has reportedly responded after opening his eyes last night, according to NFL Network.
“[Bills] S Damar Hamlin opened her eyes last night and responds. Truly incredible,” the NFL Network posted on Twitter Thursday. “One thing is abundantly clear in speaking with those close to him: they are infinitely appreciative of the medical care that was provided to Hamlin on the field immediately, and then over the past 72 hours.” .

Thoughts and prayers have reached Hamlin across the sports world since Monday night, which Hamlin’s agency acknowledged Thursday.
