Women and girls star in an open-air science fair

Every weekend, the Cultural Center of the Scienceunder the national ministry of the areaorganizes an outdoor fair in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo with music, readings, experiments, talks and games.

For this Saturday, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, The activities will focus on making visible its history, present and perspectives in various crucial fields for humanity.

These are some of the notable proposals.

CONICET in #11F. The Center for Research in Art and Heritage, together with the CONICET Gender Observatory, carried out activities on important women for science.

scientists from here. Although gender imbalance is a global problem, Argentina is one of the countries with the highest participation of women in science, celebrate the members of this group that seeks to further elevate that role. Julieta Elfman and Consu López They will give a talk about the inspiring ones.

Short films about gender and diversity. “Is all animation political?” asks this selection of French, Brazilian, Chilean, Iranian and Venezuelan pieces.

illustrated cartography. Cartoonists Alina Sarli and María Clara Lagos will invite you to build a collective map to learn about the native vegetation and fauna.

Microscopy Station. Objects and organisms from the mineral, vegetable and animal kingdoms of the entire Argentine territory to observe under magnifying glasses and microscopes.

Laboratory Station. With activities to measure PH, learn about the different behaviors of water and experiment based on the concept of density.

Games Station. Among them, a large-scale domino with species from the Argentine Sea and a memotest to identify all kinds of insects.

The cycle will continue on Saturdays 18 and 25, from 4 to 7 pm, at Godoy Cruz 2270, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. The activities are free and outdoors. They are not suspended due to rain.
