Timberwolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns to miss at least 4 weeks with calf strain: report

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to miss at least four weeks with a right calf strain, according to an ESPN report.

The three-time All-Star could be sidelined for up to six weeks, the report revealed. The team feared Towns suffered a major injury when he left Monday’s game against the Washington Wizards.

Towns underwent an MRI on Tuesday and should be able to make a full recovery. The four to six week schedule means he could be back on the court in January.

Towns suffered the non-contact injury while running down the court. At one point, Towns leaned back and grabbed his calf.

Other players and members of the Timberwolves coaching staff helped Towns off the court. He was finally taken to the locker room where he underwent an examination.
