specialists of Institute for Research in Electronics, Control and Signal Processing (Leici, Conicet-National University of La Plata and the company Recyclers Pampa Argentinaspecialized in the care of environmentpresented the autonomous solar robot primer that will be used for the collection of waste in bodies of water and the survey of hydro-environmental variables.
As explained by the creators of this revolutionary robot that was entirely made in argentina during the presentation ceremony that took place at the Faculty of Engineering of the National University of La Plata (UNLP)), the same, “It has the ability to clean surface studies, and up to 40 centimeters deep, in bodies of water such as rivers, lagoons and ports, among others.”

“This depth is where they are usually found. macro-plastics (bottles, bags, etc.), microplastics and floating hydrocarbons, which are among the main pollutants of watercourses”, explained Dr. Juan Luis Rosendo, from Leici.
“The company Reciclamer Pampa Argentina contributed its knowledge in the area of waste treatment and cleaning of bodies of water, while Leici contributed with the system automation”, added who participated in the robot developmenttogether with his colleagueFabrizio Garellialready a group of students and interns of the aforementioned La Plata faculty.

The automation consisted of the design, dimensioning and electronic integration of a modular hardware architecture on board -speed controllers, computer, sensors, antenna, etc.-, as well as, in the control logic development to achieve robot autonomy, which implied the application of a series of control models and techniques that were developed specifically for the manufacture of this argento robot, as well as the integration of data fusion algorithms to capture information from the various sensors on board.
“The operation is similar to a home robot vacuum cleanerbut with the difficulties implying displace in a liquid medium and in unstructured environments, such as ports and riverswhere external disturbances are present and must be able to be compensated from the robot’s control”, pointed out the specialist.

“At the same time, following a line of ecological development, the robot is designed so that through solar panels placed on its roof it can recharge its batteries while it is in operation ”, Rosendo concluded.
For his part, he President and founder of Reciclamer Pampa Argentina, Alan D ́ Alfonso Peral, He was very happy and enthusiastic about this revolutionary invention from La Plata. “It is very good for me to be here at the Faculty because it shows the technological and educational competitiveness What is in Argentina? Argentines are very decisive. With few resources, we can do a lot,” she recounted.
“The objective of our company is develop sales systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. We have a lot of capacity to develop them here,” concluded Peral.
