Netflix is licensing another hit series from Warner Bros. Television, with each season (all 171 episodes) scheduled to return to Netflix in select regions following its removal in recent years. This is what we know about the return of the vampires’ diaries.
From 2009 to 2017, the vampires’ diaries was the incredibly popular YA supernatural horror series that follows Elena Gilbert, who falls in love with a 162-year-old vampire. The show spawned multiple spin-offs, including The originals and legacies.
For the most part, the vampires’ diaries has been removed from Netflix in most countries around the world in recent years due to the expiration of the show’s license. The key exceptions are Australia and Indiawhere the show still airs in its entirety.

News of the show’s return to Netflix comes alongside Gossip Girl Get a new Netflix license in international territories. It also comes bundled with HBO titles being purchased in the United States and internationally. Could more titles come back or for the first time? Given the current direction of Warner Bros. Discovery, it seems likely.
When the vampires’ diaries be back on Netflix?
Netflix UK was the first to reveal that the vampires’ diaries would return to Netflix as of July 6 following its deletion from the platform in December 2022.
Netflix South Africa too confirmed that they will be at reception of the vampires’ diaries again from July 6.

A country that can be a key obstacle regarding the reintegration of the vampires’ diaries it could be Netflix in the US.
Netflix used to stream the show under its old deal with The CW, but lost the title in September 2022. Since then, the show has streamed on both Max (formerly HBO Max) and Peacock Premium.
