The representative of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) Hector Daer supported the expansion of the program Fair Priceswhose new stage was presented in an act in the Kirchner Cultural Center, of which Daer was one of the speakers. “We represent a sector that is convinced that we have to go against inflation and that is why we support this initiative. We also accompany her from a logic of self-interest, to claim the freedom of parity that we have and that we will never give up, ”Daer said in his speech. Likewise, he claimed “Freedom of parity, but with responsibility”, in order to achieve “flatten the inflationary process”, and called for “commitment from workers and responsibility from price makers and businessmen”. His speech had gestures of approaching the Minister of Economy, whom he called “comrade Sergio.”
The president of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) and Copal, Daniel Funes de Rioja, who defended the contribution of companies to the production process, but questioned the fiscal pressure at the national and municipal levels. “The industry wants stability and predictability. For us, production and work mean the same thing, it is not that it is one or the other”, he said. In addition to pointing out factors that complicate production, such as droughts, they also highlighted the loss of companies and jobs and pointed out “state interference in collective bargaining.”
However, he assured that there is, from the industrial sector, “the will to find ways of solving”, and that for that, “consensus is necessary, and lower distorted expectations”for which they are making “leap of faith”, referring to the “almost 10 years that they have been with Precios Cuidados agreements”.
Regarding the parities, Funes affirmed that he “trusts that they will sit down” to talk, and made reference to his negotiations with rodolfo daer, leader of the Food Union. “There will be scratches with Daer but no tribal clashes,” Funes said. Regarding inflation, Funes highlighted that “in 2022, the ex-factory prices are below the general average inflation” and stated that “it would seem that the same thing will happen in January.” However, he avoids that the prices of fruit, meat and vegetables are going to influence inflation. He also indicated the need for “more and better quality employment, in white”. “We are ashamed to have poor and marginalized,” he says.
The new stage of the Fair Prices program launched by the Minister of Economy sergio masacontemplates that the products that are part of the price agreement will have a pattern of monthly increases of 3.2% -below the previous one, which was 4%- and will add more items: there will be 49,832 products from some 500 companies, and they will be included Private school fees until the end of June.
