Another Netflix original movie will be leaving the service in select regions, with the military thriller. the call of the wolf (also know as the song of the loup) scheduled to leave Netflix on June 21, 2023.
Directed by Antonin Baudry, the less than 2-hour film follows a military expert in underwater acoustics striving to prove that things are not as they seem, using only his ears with nuclear war looming if mistakes are made.
It should be noted that Omar Sy is one of the leaders of the cast who has become a big Netflix star in recent years thanks to his role in Lupine (scheduled to return for Part 3 in October 2023) and the demolition.

Sy stars alongside François Civil, Mathieu Kassovitz, Reda Kateb, Paula Beer and Alexis Michalik.
Released by Pathé for a theatrical release in France, the film eventually made its way to Netflix as an original title in a handful of regions, including the United States, Australia, Canada, and further. Netflix in the UK was noticeably skipped.
It hit theaters in France in February 2019 and came to Netflix in those select regions a a few months lateron June 20, 2019.
Exactly four years after it was added to Netflix, the movie will be leaving the service based on the takedown notice now displayed on the movie’s page.
Notice of removal in The Wolf’s Call
Because it is the call of the wolf leaving Netflix?
As described above, The Wolf’s Call is not actually owned by Netflix and has only been leased from Netflix (albeit exclusively).
The film will join a long and growing list of Netflix Originals that have been removed from the service. Other French Netflix originals that have left the service in recent years include Cannabis, The Chalet, and Blockbuster.
Some outgoing Netflix Originals do return to the service, but that’s less so has been the case with international titles. In the case of many titles, they are not available to watch in any way once they are removed from Netflix.
