Noel LeGraetthe embattled president of the French Football Federationresigned amid a harassment scandal and a damning audit, the agency said Tuesday.
Le Graetthat leads to the front of the fff from 2011had taken a step back through a judicial investigation for alleged sexual and moral harassment and a report commissioned by the Ministry of Sports.
At the beginning of the month, the audit concluded that Le Graet81 years old, no longer had “the necessary legitimacy” to administer and represent this sport in France and highlighted “the inappropriate behavior of Mr. Le Graet towards women”.
Le Graetwho chaired its last executive committee on Tuesday, denied any wrongdoing.
“Noel Le Graet announced to the executive committee of the French Football Federation his decision to resign from his position“, the FFF said in a statement. The vice president, Philippe Diallo, will act as interim president of the FFF until June 10, 2023, the date of the next federal assembly,” it was reported.
Le Graetwhose term ended in 2024, had been criticized for extending the coach’s contract didier deschamps until 2026 and for derogatory comments directed at the national idol Zinedine Zidane.
