Footballer Christian Atsu was found dead after the earthquake in Turkey

The body of Ghanaian soccer player Christian Atsu was found dead under the rubble of a residence in the Turkish city of hataione of the most destroyed by the strong earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6, after several days of searching.

According to the Turkish media, the footballer was under the rubble of the residence ronesanos, a 12-story tower that collapsed in the earthquake. It is also guaranteed by his agent in Turkey, Uzunmehmet. “Atsu’s lifeless body was found under the rubble. They’re still getting their things out. His phone was also found ”.

Atsu was 31 years old, played as a striker and had gone through Porto (Portugal), Malaga from Spain, Chelsea and Newcastle from Englandamong other clubs, as well as being part of the Ghana national team, with which he played the Brazil World Cup 2014 and was chosen the best player in the Africa Cup of Nations 2015.

Some of the clubs Atsu played for were shocked by the news. “Everyone at Chelsea Football Club is devastated to learn of the tragic passing of our former player, Christian Atsu. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”, Chelsea published on their social networks.
