Bryce Young on the future after Iron Bowl: ‘Take everything one day at a time’

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young he’s the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, and if it weren’t for two plays this season, he could very well be in line for two back-to-back Heisman’s and a trip to the College Football Playoff.

Instead, Young and the Crimson Tide are out of contention for a trip to the SEC Championship Gamethus ending his Heisman hopes and almost certainly the Crimson Tide’s national championship hopes.

With a non-championship bowling game on the schedule below Saturday’s game against AuburnYoung was asked Monday if Iron Bowl 83 would be his last in Alabama.

“As far as my future goes, I take one whole day at a time,” the junior quarterback said when asked if the Auburn game would be his last. “So all I’ve been focused on all year has been the next opponent. Obviously this is a great game. This means a lot to me, to people across the state, to us as a team. This is a great game, so all I think about is today.”

In recent years, the trend of players heading to the NFL opting out of the team’s bowl game has increased.

Although the 2022 season will be considered a negative year for Nick Saban and AlabamaYoung has had another solid year even as he has dealt with a shoulder injury.
