President, Alberto Fernández, appointed Verónica Gómez as head of the Anti-Corruption Office to occupy the empty space left Felix Crous. Gómez is a lawyer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), specializing in constitutional law, human rights, and gender and law. The lawyer responds to the Deputy Chief of Staff and right hand of the President, Juan Manuel Olmos.
Crous, resigned last December and had been in the eye of the storm for having removed the Anti-Corruption Office from its role as plaintiff in the legal cases facing Cristina Kirchner and her children Máximo and Florencia.
His appointment before the body in charge of investigating public officials and controlling the presentation of their sworn declarations of assets was announced on December 16, 2020, with a clear premise from Alberto Fernández: “Make the OA stop depending on the Presidency and operate with autarky and autonomy”, as he said in an interview with the journalist Reynaldo Sietecase, for phone.

During the Kirchner government, he was one of the most frequent guests on the “6,7,8” program, where he used to defend the policies of the Cristina Kirchner government. He was the owner of the Procuvin (Institutional Violence Prosecutor), he was for eight years in charge of the Assistance Unit of the Attorney General of the Nation for cases of Human Rights Violations and State terrorism, and was also an official in the Adjunct Prosecutor’s Office in Narcocriminality.
