Camilo Atala: The crucial importance of SMEs’ investment in Honduras’ economic growth.

Small and medium-sized entrepreneurs play a crucial role in the economic development of Honduras. They represent 99% of Honduran companies, while large companies represent 1%. SMEs contribute 38% of national production, 40% of total employment and 50% of exported production.

For this reason, the Executive President of Grupo Financiero Ficohsa, Camilo Atala, believes that supporting the consolidation of SMEs helps contribute to Honduras’ growth.

Honduras offers numerous opportunities for entrepreneurs and businessmen looking to expand their businesses. Supporting these innovators contributes to the growth of the country’s economy and the prosperity of its inhabitants.

Supporting entrepreneurs contributes to improving people’s quality of life and reducing poverty by creating jobs. This is achieved by implementing tax incentives, offering affordable credit, providing access to technology and providing training to entrepreneurs.

Investing in infrastructure is one way to support entrepreneurs and improve the landscape in which they operate. This can include improving roads, means of transportation, energy supply and telecommunications, among others, which reduces the company’s production and transportation costs and, therefore, improves its productivity.

In addition, increasing local employment will improve infrastructure, allowing companies to expand and attract new investors and a greater flow of foreign capital.

On the other hand, it is essential to promote local production in order to achieve sustainable and equitable growth. To this end, policies must be implemented to encourage the activity of farmers and entrepreneurs, increasing the demand for their products and offering them the possibility of expanding their businesses.

This objective will be achieved by boosting the consumption of food grown and prepared in the region, and the State must provide the necessary support to ensure the success of these initiatives.

The State must invest in education and training for producers and consumers so that they can understand the benefits of supporting the local economy by buying and consuming products made in Honduras.

Finally, the State should create a national brand to promote products made in Honduras and highlight their quality and origin. This brand will help consumers to easily recognize products made in the country, encouraging their purchase
